Best Font Styles for Online Articles

The font style used on a website is a very important part of what makes the website easy to navigate and the information easy to process. If you use one of the many fancy font styles, it’s likely that people will skip over the article because they don’t want to slow down to read it. Because our minds tend to take pictures of computer screens and then process the information, as opposed to processing the information from the words we read, it’s important to keep things relatively simple. However, if the style that you use is too simple, you may not catch the eye of the people you are trying to target.

Font Selection

Finding the right balance can be a difficult task. The most important aspect of choosing the right font is finding the style that will attract and engage readers, but also make it simple to decipher the information. Something like Arial, Times New Roman, or Verdana is a good way to go for the body of the text. On your titles and subtitles, something more extravagant can and should be used in an attempt to make those points “pop”.

Bullet Points and Italics

When formatting a website, you should look at what you’re trying to get across. Bullet points are a great way to list information without needing to go into a great amount of detail.  However, they aren’t a great way to convey a step-by-step process that requires a great deal of information. In the case of going in-depth, you can always use different things to accent your points. Italics are a great way to push a point or make something stand out so that people will read it more closely and understand the point being made to a greater degree. If you’re not comfortable using italics, another option is to use different colors to make the words stand out.

Color Combinations

Always remember to keep your font and your background at opposite ends of the light spectrum. There are people who have trouble discerning different colors, and they may not be able to see combinations like green font on a yellow page or purple surrounded by blue. Again, simplicity is often the best choice for this type of setup; black and white, blue and yellow, red and green. Using opposite colors with the proper formatting and style are great ways to accent a page and ensure that everybody still has the ability to read it.

Always Focus on Your Readers

A combination of any or all of these practices can be used so that each person can follow your article and get the most out of it without becoming bored. Never forget to make things interesting and engaging for the reader. The more they can lose themselves in the article, the more they will continue to read. By using some of these hints, you will be able to grab the reader’s attention, keep them engaged and get your information across in an easy and useful way!

Here are some examples that might spare you some time:

5 Tips on Writing Quality Blog Posts

Are you planning to come up with your own blog site? Today, many people have started writing their own blogs because it gives them an opportunity to speak up their minds and communicate with each other. You must have remembered that there was a time when there was no internet and people used to write their feelings, thoughts and other information in their personal diaries. Blogs are very similar to that. They can be personal and informative, they can be funny and  sarcastic at the same time too. Millions of bloggers login every day and type their feelings on the monitor, but why only a few blogs do really well while other blogs are not even in the search list?

Writing captivating blogs is an art and you can master it very quickly if you have a passion for writing and communicating your feelings across the world. I have met hundreds of people who think they should start their own blogs, but fear that they won’t get the same amount of positive response because it needs a good amount of writing skills, which isn’t absolutely true. If you are intending to come up with your own blog, you have to follow simple rules:

Content Topic – Before you even start writing articles you have to think about the topic that you will write about. For this you will have to do a little bit of research on the search engines and see which topics are hot ones and than select the ones that you think are easy and that you can write about. If you feel that the topics are hard to understand, read more about it on Google or any other major search engine and get more information about it. This will help you write your blogs more effectively.

Simple Words – When you are posting on your blogs, make sure you use simple words, because if you use heavy vocabulary, the number of audience on your blog will drop down as only those patient enough will be able to understand what you are trying to say. Simple words increases your audience and people will come back to read more on your blog.

Hypnotic Language – Blogs are not only about writing your thoughts, it’s about communicating. Use a good hypnotic language and add questions to your posts that makes the reader involved in the article. The reader should not feel that he is reading an article; the reader should feel that the article is talking to him.

Eye-catching Titles – Normally when we are going through a newspaper we only read news that have an attractive title. Similarly, people on the internet are always in a hurry, and therefore a catchy title is very necessary to attract more readers.

Keywords – You might feel that keywords are not really important but they are because unless you use a good amount of keywords in your posts, your blogs will not show up in any major search engine, and that means that no one will ever know that you have a blog.  Hence, make sure all your blogs have primary keywords in it.

Description: I’d been fooling around with static websites for years. I finally gave in and started a blog, with the single determination to create a learning resource for article marketers.

My “first” blog post was “Hello, World,” as was everyone’s when using WordPress CMS. :-D  But my first real blog post was all of 49 words long and simply told the world of my intentions for the future of the blog. Very boring. Since then, I’ve added 339 very informative posts, and have 244 comments (would love more, *hint, hint*). It has reached a Page Rank of 2 (altho Google keeps skipping back and forth on that, between 1 and 2).

My name is CJ John and you can contact me thru my blog, above. Thanks for reading!
